If a parent, husband, wife or other relative is paying for your trip, the visa officer needs to see three things: who they are to you, that they can afford it, and that they have agreed to pay. A short sponsorship letter, with the right documents attached, covers all three.
In this guide
What to attach to the letter
- 1Proof of relationship
The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from NADRA. Turkey’s sticker visa asks for it, and it is the clearest proof for any embassy.
- 2The sponsor’s bank statements
For the same period the embassy asks of you, usually 3 or 6 months, with a bank maintenance certificate.
- 3Proof of the sponsor’s income
Salary slips, tax returns or business documents, so the balance makes sense.
- 4A copy of the sponsor’s CNIC
So the details in the letter can be checked.

Tips that make a sponsorship convincing
- Close family works best. Parents and spouses are easy to show with an FRC. For other relatives, explain the relationship clearly.
- Say it in your own cover letter too. Your cover letter should name the sponsor and say the sponsorship letter is attached.
- Show your own ties as well. Even with a sponsor, show why you will return: studies, a job or family in Pakistan.
- Keep the money story simple. The sponsor’s income, balance and the trip cost should obviously fit. See our bank statement guide.

Questions people ask
Who can sponsor my visa?
Usually a close family member: a parent, spouse, sibling or child. They need to show the relationship and enough money to cover your trip.
Does the sponsorship letter need to be stamped or attested?
A signed letter is normally enough, with the sponsor’s CNIC copy and FRC attached. If your destination asks for attestation, we tell you before you apply.
Can a friend sponsor me?
It is much harder to explain. Embassies usually expect sponsors to be close family. Talk to us before relying on a friend’s sponsorship.
Do I still need my own bank statement?
Often yes. Many embassies want your own statement as well. We check your destination’s list.
Visa rules change often. We confirm the current requirements and fees before you pay. A visa does not guarantee entry.
